NATO is seeking an experienced Level 3 Application Engineer to strengthen its Business Area during a strategic migration from on-premise systems to cloud-based platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality support for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications while playing a key advisory role in cloud migration and infrastructure transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 support for a suite of COTS applications, ensuring performance, availability, and security compliance.
- Lead configuration and automation of Atlassian products (primarily Jira Service Management and Jira Software) on both on-premise and Azure-based private cloud environments.
- Manage containerized services and Kubernetes clusters within private cloud deployments.
- Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines, EntraID groups, and other cloud-native services across Azure and AWS.
- Deliver expert troubleshooting for end-user issues, escalate where necessary, and maintain accurate documentation in service desk systems.
- Ensure applications align with NATO security directives, support accreditation efforts, and manage access controls.
- Create and maintain a central knowledge base to promote continuous improvement and team enablement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional IT teams to ensure service excellence and smooth cloud transition.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in L3 application support for COTS products in secure, enterprise environments.
- Deep expertise with Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence) configuration and integration.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure/AWS cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Proficiency with Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, and networking.
- Familiarity with PKI, security compliance frameworks, and NATO/NCIA security directives.
- Experience supporting HR systems or identity management platforms such as GENPACT Sequence Kinetics/Cora
