Automation Instrumentation Engineer – Contract or PermanentLocation: Antwerp / Ghent / Zeebrugge, BelgiumRate: Competitive Hourly Rate / SalaryLanguage: English or Dutch Speaking – International EnvironmentAre you an experienced Instrumentation or Automation Engineer looking to join a high-impact project in one of Belgium’s busiest industrial hubs?Our client, a global leader in industrial and process automation, is expanding its team due to increased project demand across the chemical, pharmaceutical, and renewable energy sectors. You’ll play a vital role in designing, maintaining, and optimising automated systems and field instrumentation across complex production environments.Key Responsibilities:Design, configure, and maintain automation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA)Specify, select, and calibrate instrumentation for pressure, flow, temperature, and levelSupport commissioning, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting activitiesLiaise with multidisciplinary teams including process, electrical, and mechanical engineersEnsure systems comply with ATEX, SIL, and other relevant safety standardsWork across CAPEX and brownfield projects on-site or hybridYou Bring:3+ years’ experience in Automation or Instrumentation EngineeringExperience with Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, or Emerson platforms (for Automation roles)Field experience with instrumentation in hazardous/regulated environments (for Instrumentation roles)Fluency in English or Dutch (French is a plus)EU Work Permit or Belgian ResidencyWhy Apply?Work on major greenfield and brownfield projectsJoin a booming industrial region with long-term project pipelinesOpportunity for contract (freelance) or permanent engagementFlexible working options and site/hybrid mixFast interview process
