Construction Manager

Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a Construction Manager to join one of their projects based in Ghent on an initial 12-month contract.Key Responsibilities:Manage daily on-site construction activities for the expansion project, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.Coordinate multiple contractors across disciplines (civil, structural, MEP, etc.) and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders.Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS standards, and specific procedures.Oversee site logistics, work permits, method statements, and redline/as-built documentation.Lead site meetings, safety briefings, and progress reporting.Support commissioning and turnover in collaboration with validation and QA teams.Identify and mitigate risks, manage changes, and maintain alignment with project plans.Skills Experience Required:Sufficient years’ experience in construction management, ideally within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.Strong understanding of GMP, EHS regulations, and construction within live or regulated facilities.Proven ability to manage large-scale or complex brownfield/greenfield projects.Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.Fluent in EnglishFamiliarity with LOTO, permit-to-work systems, and construction management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).Engineering or construction-related degree preferred.
