Senior Shipping Data Analyst - Asia Pacific Do you share our passion for the environment and harnessing technology to decarbonise our society? Do you know or want to learn how environmental policy and politics can transform markets, and have an interest in shipping and sustainable fuels? We are looking for a Sustainable Shipping Analyst. The position requires a person with strong analytical, coding and research skills. Communicating complex data in a way that is both accessible and impactful is key for our advocacy. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to carry out technical analyses related to maritime transport and alternative fuels using T&E’s Excel and Python-based models, and to translate them into simple and persuasive data and policy messages. analysis, data and research. Being a key part of T&E’s Shipping and Trends & Analysis teams, focusing on our analytical work for the APAC region on maritime transport. ● Researching and analyzing technological and economic aspects of energy efficiency, alternative energy, such as hydrogen, synthetic fuels, and electricity, for ships and ports. ● Analyzing and dissecting data as well as complex policy issues from a variety of sources including scientific studies, reports and models. ● Developing briefings and inputting into advocacy and campaign materials based on robust data, evidence and argumentation in order to reduce the climate impact of maritime transport in the Asia-Pacific region. ● Presenting T&E’s technical analyses to policymakers, business leaders, civil society actors and our international network. Strong knowledge of Excel and Python and experience in working with these tools. ● At least 2-4 years of experience working with models and data in the shipping/transport, environmental or energy sectors. ● Good communication, presentation and data visualization skills. ● The ability to write in English fluently, accurately and concisely. ● Asian languages (e.g. Mandarin, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean) are considered a bonus. ● Project management experience including strong interpersonal and team-working skills and a track record in delivering to tight deadlines. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Brussels. The ideal start date for the position is 1 September 2025.
