Actuary (nearly/newly qualified)

Our client a global insurance and reinsurance leader are looking for an Actuarial Associate to be based in Brussels to support European insurance operations across a range of actuarial activities, including reserving, reporting, and capital modelling.

The role:

• Ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks such as Solvency II and Belgian GAAP, while also contributing valuable insights to business planning and strategy.
• Develop and validate data processes, support quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, and contribute to claims and premium reserving for a diverse book of business.
• Shape assumptions and reserving methodologies, calculate capital requirements, perform capital projections, and assist with actuarial work across various European branches.
• Engage in ad-hoc projects that support broader organisational goals.

Skills and Experience needed:

• Nearly and newly qualified Actuary with experience in the non-life insurance sector.
• Experience in reserving or capital modelling
• Strong analytical mindset
• Comfortable managing your own work, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with tools such as Excel, Access, and databases, and ResQ or R Studio beneficial.
