Data Governance Specialist

MUST BE BASED IN BELGIUM

Take the lead in shaping the future of data governance in a high-impact, cross-functional role at the heart of a data-driven organisation. As a Senior Data Governance Specialist, you’ll drive the development and rollout of robust data product frameworks that support regulatory compliance, data quality, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise standards for data products (quality, semantics, modelling, regulatory compliance, and interoperability)
• Translate governance frameworks into practical policies and procedures
• Coordinate the rollout of standards with senior leadership.
• Act as a change agent and key contact for data governance, quality, and compliance issues
• Partner with Business, IT, and Data teams to increase the strategic value of data products

Skills & Requirments

• Strong knowledge of Data Mesh principles (data products, specifications, contracts, metadata)
• Experience with enterprise data management tools
• Familiarity with project management and planning tools
• Exposure to Agile methodology
• Background in the financial services industry
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proactive, analytical, and independent mindset
• Strong team player who thrives in multicultural environments
• Committed to continuous improvement and open to innovation
• Language: Fluent in English (Dutch and/or French is a plus)
• Education: Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in data governance or related data disciplines
