— no payroll, no legal, no admin except to help as backup for basics if your colleague is absent.
Responsibilities
1. Competency Mapping & Frameworks
Build a comprehensive
competency matrix
that reflects the skills, attitudes, and behaviors required at different levels and roles.
Map all existing team members into the matrix based on seniority and function.
Establish clear links between the competency matrix and performance expectations at each role level.
2. Evaluation & Feedback Cycles
Design and lead
bi-annual performance evaluation cycles
led by team managers.
Ensure feedback is constructive, actionable, and used to guide decisions.
Integrate performance indicators and measurable outcomes into evaluations — enabling managers to assess not only soft skills and competencies but also goal achievement and delivery.
3. Development Planning
From evaluation insights, design
individual learning & development plans .
Set up
team-wide training strategies
based on recurring themes.
Identify and coordinate with training partners, coaches, or internal experts.
Use performance data to identify development needs and potential, ensuring learning investments are directly tied to business impact.
4. Manager Enablement & Advisory
Build close relationships with managers, supporting them regularly on team development topics.
Act as a sparring partner to help them navigate growth challenges in their teams.
Help managers connect development discussions with team performance targets and KPIs.
Support managers in addressing and resolving interpersonal issues or team conflicts as a neutral, trusted partner.
5. Talent Acquisition
Be in charge of a few positions in the
hiring processes
at any given time.
Ensure this recruitment workload supports — not distracts from — your core mission.
6. Culture & Experience
Organize team-building activities, company events (both small and large), and initiatives that reinforce team cohesion and engagement.
Be a key contributor to the employee experience, helping to maintain an energizing and inclusive workplace culture, including volunteering activities.
7. Operational Flexibility
While not responsible for HR admin, you may act as a backup in rare cases where support is temporarily needed (e.g. absence of the admin person).
ABOUT YOU
Background and skills
Fluent in
French and English
Experienced for 5 years in
soft HR : people development, performance management, or L&D.
Skilled at designing frameworks from scratch and bringing structure to people processes.
Empathetic, organized, and highly collaborative with strong relationship-building skills.
Able to translate feedback and data into strategic actions.
Creative and proactive in organizing employee events and team experiences.
Comfortable working with performance indicators, KPIs, and business-aligned people metrics.
Curious about the future of work and continuous development.
Bonus points
Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth tech environment.
Familiarity with competency frameworks and talent mapping.
Exposure to tools for evaluation, feedback, or HRIS platforms.
Experience managing or facilitating team-building initiatives.
