📌 Technical Writer – IT Infrastructure & Support Procedures
📍 Location: Near Charleroi(3 days on-site / 2 days homeworking – flexible)

🎯 Mission We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to support our client's documentation efforts across their IT infrastructure and support environment. The selected consultant will be responsible for producing clear, accurate, and well-structured technical documentation to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing across teams.
The role will focus on:
Documenting existing and upcoming infrastructure components (network, firewalls, web services, databases, servers)
Mapping and formalizing support procedures – clarifying ownership, responsibilities, and escalation paths ("who does what")
Participating in technical workshops to capture key information, and if capable, challenging current practices to help improve design and efficiency
🧾 Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain high-quality documentation (architecture, processes, operational manuals) Work closely with infrastructure engineers, architects, and support teams to gather information
Translate complex technical concepts into accessible content tailored to different audiences (IT teams, support, management)
Ensure documentation is up-to-date, structured, and stored in an accessible format (SharePoint, Confluence, etc.)
Help define documentation standards, templates, and best practices if needed
Review and revise existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and relevance
Track and manage documentation progress and updates
✅ Required Skills & Experience
3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer in an IT or infrastructurerelated environment (2 years considered if the candidate is highly autonomous and demonstrates strong ability)
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (networks, servers, databases, etc.)
Excellent written communication skills in French (80% of the documentation)
Good command of written English (20% of the documentation)
Capacity to work independently and proactively in a structured way
Strong ability to gather and synthesize information from various stakeholders
Experience with documentation tools (Confluence, MS Word, SharePoint, etc.)
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Background in technical support or system administration
Ability to facilitate or moderate workshops
Familiarity with documentation standards (e.g., DITA, UML, BPMN)
