We are looking for an experienced Functional Analyst to join our client’s IT team in the financial services sector. In this pivotal role, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable IT requirements that drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate detailed functional requirements into precise IT specifications, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical implementation
• Work closely with technical teams to describe and design system interfaces from a functional perspective
• Develop comprehensive use case scenarios and user stories that clearly outline system behavior and user interactions
• Create and maintain functional domain models that accurately represent business processes and data flows
• Collaborate with developers by providing detailed functional documentation, including happy paths, normal workflows, and exception scenarios, supported by practical examples
• Support and sometimes lead functional and acceptance testing activities to validate delivered solutions
• Participate actively in Agile & Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and reviews
• Communicate transparently with all stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment and facilitating smooth project execution

What You Bring

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in functional analysis within IT projects, preferably in financial services or related industries
• Solid technical background with a good understanding of system architecture and database concepts
• Ability to describe system interfaces and integrations from a functional perspective
• Proven skills in writing clear and detailed use cases and user stories
• Proficiency in SQL and working knowledge of relational databases
• Deep understanding of what developers need in functional documentation, including handling various workflow scenarios
• Experience in functional and acceptance testing is advantageous
• Comfortable working within Agile & Scrum frameworks
• A flexible mindset with strong stress resistance and a proactive approach to problem-solving
• A responsible team player with excellent communication skills and transparency in collaboration
• Fluent in Dutch (native or near-native) and able to express yourself clearly in French and English
