About Us

AFD (Academics For Development) is a Belgian non-profit student organization committed to driving social and sustainable impact through student-led initiatives. We empower young people to become changemakers by hands-on International Solidarity projects that tackle social, environmental, and/or economic challenges.

What We’re Looking For

We are currently looking for a creative and proactive marketing & visual design collaborator to help us strengthen our visual identity and support our communication needs. We’re seeking someone who can connect with AFD's values and mission and actively proposes visual ideas and improvements.

We're open to working with students, freelancers, or early-career professionals — this is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in purpose-driven design & branding work.

Scope of Work

The following tasks are asked:

1) Logo Proposal

• Design or refresh our logo so that it reflects AFD’s strategic identity and values
• Deliverable in multiple formats (PNG, SVG, vector, etc.)

2) Image Animation for Website

• Animated or interactive visual(s) for the homepage or header section
• Should align with the tone and aesthetics of

3) Corporate Movie

• Short video (1–2 minutes) presenting AFD’s mission, activities, and impact
• Video editing, animation, or mixed media welcome

4) Company Banners (2 units)

• Banner 1: Introducing AFD in general
• Banner 2: Showcasing AFD Projects
• Suitable for online and print use
• Deliverable in multiple formats (PNG, SVG, pfd, etc.)

Optional Add-ons (if interested or available)

1) Design of Canva Template for Partner Proposals

• A professional and flexible template for use in funding and partnership proposals
• Should match AFD’s brand and be editable in Canva

2) Aesthetic Redesign of the AFD Website

• Visual update of afdimpact.org with modern, student-driven appeal
• No need to rebuild the back-end. Focus on layout, visuals, and user experience

Profile We’re Looking For

• Creative with a strong eye for visual storytelling
• Experience (or motivation to learn) in logo design, video editing, and basic animation
• Familiarity with design tools (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva, Figma, or similar)
• Able to work independently and proactively suggest ideas
• Interest in social entrepreneurship and student-led projects
• Open to feedback and collaboration with a young, dynamic team
• Fluency in English
