Senior Tax Specialist – Aalst, Belgium

For our client, an international organization with Belgian headquarters near Aalst, we are looking for a Senior Tax Specialist.

In this role, you will take ownership of all tax-related matters for the Belgian entities, while operating in close collaboration with the international finance and tax teams. The position offers a broad scope, high visibility, and the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-evolving international group.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day tax operations and compliance across all relevant areas, with the support of international colleagues and under the guidance of both local and group-level tax leadership. This is a key role offering autonomy, development, and exposure to cross-border projects in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Although there is a degree of freedom in shaping your role together with your manager, as a Senior Tax Specialist you can expect following responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance of all legal entities with Belgian rules and regulations, e.g. : Prepare tax & VAT return and filing, Statutory financials (tax review & tax computation), Audits;
• Manage intercompany reconciliations;
• Engage and liaise with Belgian tax authorities (rulings, tax audits, etc…) and local tax consultants;
• Draft internal and external reports;
• Support operations with tax analyses;
• Responsible for tax planning and optimization;
• Develop transfer pricing documentation;
• Monitor local legislative tax changes and implement accordingly;
• Tax structuring and restructuring for local market;
• Work in alignment on all tax matters with the Group Tax team and the relevant business stakeholders. Share info and deliver reports;
• Oversee tax compliance of all activities.

Your Profile:

• Master’s degree in economics, finance or law, preferably with a specialization in Tax Management.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position within an international company; or in a tax consultancy role. Prior experience in the entertainment, gaming, or gambling industry (it would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite for this role).
• An analytical mind, precise, methodical, and organized.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Knowledge of MS Dynamics.
• Teamplayer with an independent approach, and eagerness to meet deadlines and to increase efficiency.
• Lateral thinker with a creative and flexible approach to tax management.
• Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good written and oral communication skills in both Dutch and English.
