Position overview
We are looking for a General Manager who will be the face and driving force behind Cloud Seven’s operations, community, and growth. An entrepreneurial spirit is key - someone who thrives in building things, spotting market openings, and scaling them effectively. The role requires sales-driven leadership, skilled at transforming interests into measurable membership growth.
Because of the unique nature of the coworking space, the person should be sensitive to contemporary art and have a strong network within Brussels and the Flanders wider region. They will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, leading the team, attracting new members and clients, and ensuring the space reaches its business and cultural potential.
About Cloud Seven
Located in the vibrant Dansaert district of Brussels, Cloud Seven is a unique hybrid space that brings together coworking, art, wellness, and hospitality. Home to the contemporary art collection of Frédéric de Goldschmidt and host to a rotating series of exhibitions and cultural events, Cloud Seven offers a rich, curated coworking space for professionals, entrepreneurs, and art lovers alike.
Our mission is to cultivate a dynamic, inspiring and collaborative atmosphere where art lives alongside work, conversation, and innovation.
Key responsibilities of the General Manager
1. Operational and team leadership
- Lead and manage the operations of the coworking space, art venue, and wellness area.
- Supervise and support staff (hospitality and events) to ensure smooth workflows and high-quality service.
- Manage scheduling, supplier relations, payroll, and administrative tasks.
- Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and hospitality among team members.
2. Business development and sales
- Drive membership recruitment through direct outreach, partnerships, and community engagement.
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to attract new tenants, corporate clients, and event organizers.
- Set and achieve revenue goals through space utilization, event rentals, and service upsells.
- Proactively build and leverage Cloud Seven’s network in Brussels, Flanders and beyond to increase visibility and leads.
3. Community and representation
- Act as the ambassador of Cloud Seven both internally and externally.
- Represent the space at networking events, cultural gatherings, and industry meetings.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing members and stakeholders to boost retention and referrals.
- Create an inclusive and inspiring atmosphere for diverse communities, from creatives to entrepreneurs.
4. Cultural and brand alignment
- Collaborate closely with the curatorial/art team to ensure alignment between business and cultural programming.
- Support the promotion and hosting of exhibitions and art-related events.
- Reflect the identity and values of Cloud Seven through all operational decisions and external communications.
5. Marketing and promotion
- Promote Cloud Seven’s offerings across relevant platforms and through strategic partnerships.
- Contribute ideas for events, content, and campaigns that elevate the brand and drive interest.
- Support digital and offline visibility efforts.
Candidate profile
Must-Have:
- A mature, impact-oriented profile with at least three years of experience in coworking, hospitality, or cultural venue management. What matters most is not the length of experience but the depth of leadership, business acumen, and proven ability to drive growth -whether in building communities, increasing revenue, or scaling a hybrid offering. The ideal candidate combines operational strength with a growth mindset, and brings the clarity, confidence and adaptability required to guide Cloud Seven through its next phase of development
- Fluent Dutch speaker (native level preferred) with excellent command of English. French is a plus.
- Deep understanding of the Brussels/Flanders business and cultural ecosystem, with a valuable professional network.
- Interested in contemporary art and cultural spaces.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Experience with KPIs, revenue targets, and CRM tools.
- Highly organized, hands-on, and adaptable.
- Professional presence with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have:
- Previous experiences in coworking, cultural venues, or lifestyle/hospitality brands.
- Background in business, marketing, cultural management, or similar fields.
- Familiarity with Brussels-based public and private stakeholders in business and the arts.
What we offer
- A leadership role in one of Brussels' most original and dynamic hybrid cultural-business spaces.
- A highly creative environment with inspiring people and projects.
- The opportunity to shape the future of Cloud Seven.
- Attractive salary package with performance-based bonuses.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of one of Brussels’ most ambitious and visionary cultural-business ventures. Reporting directly to the Board and working closely with Frédéric de Goldschmidt — the founder and key artistic force behind Cloud Seven — the General Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term orientation, growth strategy, and cultural identity of the project. This is a rare opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a space where art, innovation, and hospitality are deeply intertwined.
