Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Engineer, pull up a chair

We always have a place at the table for new talent, so won’t you join us? Our name, What’s Cooking?, is followed by a question mark because we are always curious and open to new ideas. So yes, we are also curious to learn more about you. Are you just as open-minded and enterprising as we are? In that case, we look forward to getting to know you/meeting you.

What will you do as a Cyber Security Engineer?

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you are responsible for the operational support, monitoring, and improvement of the security of IT systems, applications, and network infrastructure within the organization. You play a key role in defending our computer network, identifying vulnerabilities, and developing solutions to security issues. Additionally, you assist in investigating security incidents.

Specifically, this means:

  • You maintain and strengthen the existing security architecture of networks, servers, and applications. You assist in the implementation and management of security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint security.
  • You monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and closely follow up on potential incidents, in collaboration with the Cyber Security & Business Continuity Manager and the IT Operations Manager. You document incidents and test new hardware and software for security before implementation.
  • You ensure that systems and software are always up to date with the latest security patches. Together with the IT Infrastructure Team, you work on hardening servers and networks.
  • You provide first-line support on cyber security and use clear documentation.
  • You stay continuously informed about the latest developments in your field and translate these into concrete improvements within the organization.

Your profile: what do you bring?

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Candidates with less experience may also be considered, provided they have completed a Cyber Security training.
  • You are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French are a plus.
  • You hold a valid EU work permit and are based in Belgium.

What’s in it for you?

You will be working in an exciting environment in a stable, innovative and progressive Belgian food group with an international reputation.

Your colleagues are ready to welcome you with open arms and share their experience with you. A warm atmosphere and personal approach ensure that you are completely on track.

You get the chance to learn a lot and develop yourself. You will be guided and supported by our colleagues and we will offer you growth opportunities based on your interests and abilities so that you become an expert in your job.

Of course, you can count on a competitive salary package supplemented with extra-legal benefits such as a company car, meal vouchers, health insurance, a pension plan, regular home working and 32 days of holiday.

Finally, we find it especially important that you feel at home in our organization. What’s Cooking is a stable company with an open and informal company culture; we are proud of what we do, share successes and enjoy working together.
