The Role
We are looking for a motivated Content and Advocacy Officer with a passion for internal auditing and a strong interest in policy, stakeholder engagement, and advancing the profession.
At IIA Belgium, we look at advocacy in 2 ways:
- engaging with external stakeholders;
- communicating with our members about (future) trends in the profession.
In this role, you will help shape the voice of internal audit in Belgium and beyond. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced internal auditor who wants to contribute beyond audit reports and make a lasting impact on the future of the profession.
Responsibilities
- Support IIA Belgium’s advocacy efforts by engaging with key governance stakeholders such as Guberna, IBR, NBB, FSMA, ACFE, ISACA Belgium and others
- Collaborate with European IIA chapters, ECIIA and IIA Global on joint advocacy initiatives
- Draft position papers and consultation responses, often together with volunteer experts
- Coordinate publications, including an Internal Audit Magazine, and webinars on relevant topics
- Support our professional communities (young professionals, small audit teams, large audit functions, and chief audit executives) in organizing high-quality events
- Work on conference and event programs
- Represent IIA Belgium at events and meetings where relevant
Your Profile
- 3–5 years of internal audit experience (any industry)
- A strong interest in public policy, governance, and promoting the value of the profession
- Fluent in English (French and/or Dutch are a strong plus)
- CIA or other IIA credentials are a plus. If not, the willingness to aquire CIA is a must.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with volunteers and partners across organizations
Team & Reporting
You will report directly to the CEO of IIA Belgium and work closely with a small, dynamic team consisting of Training , Marketing and Membership Officers. You’ll also collaborate regularly with our active network of volunteers and international colleagues.
