Financial Controller

Robert Half is currently looking for a Financial Controller (m/f/x) for a permanent position based in Brussels.

Our client is a well-known international company active in the horeca sector and based in the centrum of Brussels (easy access with public transport).

This role entails implementing robust financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Areas of focus include cost accounting, general accounting, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, inventory, budgeting, and external reporting.

In this position, you will report to the General Manager of Brussels and to the Accounting Director in the US. You will also manage one person and have following responsibilities :

• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting ;
• Control of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ;
• Perform monthly and annual closings ;
• Handle contact with external firms (accounting/tax/audit firms and public administrations) ;
• Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, supply variance analyses to both corporate and local management ;
• Control of payroll process and handle contact with external partner ;
• Identify and groom key talent within the finance organization.

The required skills for the Financial Controller (m/f/x) position:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting ;

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar position ;
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations is a strong asset ;
• You have a very good communication and like to take initiatives ;
• You are detail oriented, versatile and autonomous ;
• You have a very good knowledge of English and a good knowledge of French.
