Role Overview:

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain backend modules supporting the inhouse platform within a technologically advanced industrial context. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance solutions tailored to client needs and industry requirements.

• Design and implement robust backend solutions and modules for real-time machine control, data acquisition, and long-term data storage using C# and .NET Core.
• Develop and optimize APIs, leveraging ASP.NET, REST, and gRPC to support seamless communication between applications and clients.
• Manage database solutions using PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB, ensuring reliable data logging, retrieval, and time-series optimization.
• Integrate secure authentication protocols, including OAuth, and implement best practices for HTTP-based communication.
• Utilize modern development tools such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality, efficient deployment, and scalability.
• Act as a technical interface between core software engineering and application teams, translating complex requirements into functional backend applications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, team members, and external partners to deliver projects that meet or exceed industrial client expectations.
• Participate in occasional international travel to gain insight into client environments and refine software relevance and robustness.

You will be directly involved in the innovation and improvement of large area optical coating solutions, contributing to a suite of products that touch daily life – from architectural glass and smartphones to renewable energy components. The role operates within a fast-moving, high-technology setting, interfacing directly with machine building and advanced industrial engineering teams.

Profile

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about backend development and possess a strong technical foundation grounded in Computer Science. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and bring at least eight years of experience in backend software engineering, especially within high-tech or industrial domains.

• Technical expertise: Our ideal candidate demonstrates deep proficiency in C# and .NET Core, combined with hands-on experience in ASP.NET and modern API architectures. Familiarity with PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB for data management is important, as is practical knowledge of REST, gRPC, and HTTP-based communication protocols.
• DevOps and cloud-ready mindset: We value individuals who are adept at using Git for version control, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and working with Docker and Kubernetes for robust deployments. Experience with OAuth and authentication protocols—and exposure to CircleCI—are highly valued assets.
• Analytical and problem-solving orientation: The ideal candidate is naturally curious, analytical, and enjoys finding solutions to complex problems in a technical environment.
