CFO Advisory Lead – Financial Services

Are you ready to lead strategic finance initiatives for leading banks and insurers? At BDO, we are expanding our CFO Advisory services within the Financial Services industry – and we’re looking for someone with the vision and drive to shape this offering.

This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a service line with full ownership, backed by an experienced consulting team and a strong client portfolio.

Your Role

As CFO Advisory Lead, you are the go-to advisor for CFOs navigating change. You combine deep finance expertise with leadership skills to support clients through complex transformation journeys. You will:

• Define and grow our CFO Advisory offering for Financial Services clients
• Lead engagements on topics like finance strategy, process optimisation, regulatory reporting (e.g. IFRS, CSRD), and digital finance
• Guide finance departments through large-scale change (organisation, data, systems, people)
• Collaborate with other teams (Risk, Strategy, Technology) to deliver integrated solutions
• Coach and lead a team of consultants and subject matter experts
• Drive business development and deepen relationships with existing and new clients
• Act as a thought leader in the market on CFO-related challenges and trends

Your Profile

We’re looking for someone who combines content expertise, consulting experience, and the ambition to take the next step in their career. Ideally, you:

• Have at least 10 years of experience in finance-related consulting, preferably within Financial Services
• Bring strong knowledge of financial and management reporting, accounting standards (e.g. IFRS), and evolving regulations (e.g. CSRD, ECB, NBB…)
• Are familiar with ERP or EPM implementations (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Tagetik, Anaplan…)
• Have led teams and coached more junior profiles
• Can confidently engage with CFOs and senior stakeholders
• Are fluent in Dutch or French (ideally both), and comfortable working in English
• Are entrepreneurial, client-oriented, and motivated to build something new
