PSI Consultant – VAX/COBOL Specialist

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned PSI Consultant with strong expertise in legacy systems, particularly VAX and COBOL-based applications. The ideal candidate will play a dual role—providing consultancy and hands-on development support to our customer. Over time, the consultant will take ownership of the customer’s application and contribute to its migration to PSI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a PSI Consultant, understanding and translating customer requirements into actionable solutions.
• Provide support and have a previous experience with VAX, especially applications developed in COBOL.
• Engage in a ramp-up phase to gain deep knowledge of the customer’s systems and processes.
• Deliver consultancy services including analysis, solution design, and implementation.
• Maintain and enhance the customer’s application independently after the initial transition period (~2 years).
• Support the long-term migration of legacy VAX applications to PSI, leveraging acquired domain knowledge.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including French and Russian speakers.

Required Skills:

Technical:

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming.
• Deep understanding of VAX systems and legacy application architecture.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Functional:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong consulting mindset with the ability to understand business needs and propose solutions.
• Proficient in English (spoken and written).
• Good communication skills, especially in multicultural environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of French (spoken/written).
• Domain experience in Steel Industry or related manufacturing sectors.
