Expert Data Manager & Data Engineer

Job Title: Expert Data Manager & Data Engineer

Location: Brussels

Hybrid: Yes (3 days/week onsite)

Type of Contract: Permanent Contract preferably

Mandatory Languages: Fluent in English and French OR Dutch (C1 minimum)

Eligibility: Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium

We are looking for a hands-on Data Manager & Engineer (10+ years of experience) to support a large-scale modernization program. This role focuses on data management, engineering, and implementation, not advisory. Presence in Brussels office is required 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage master data, metadata, quality, governance, and security.
• Design and implement data pipelines, integration, transformation, and storage.
• Lead on-premise to Azure Cloud migrations.
• Deliver dashboards and reports (Power BI, SAP BO).
• Develop architectural data designs and translate them into actions.
• Support the organization’s transition to a data-driven culture.

Requirements

• 10+ years in data management & engineering within complex organizations.
• Strong experience with:
• Master & metadata management
• Data governance, quality & security
• Data pipelines (batch & real-time)
• Cloud migrations (Azure)
• Data visualization (Power BI, SAP BO)
• Higher education degree in Computer Science (European institution).
• Excellent English + very good Dutch or French.

Nice-to-Have

• API development, microservices, event-driven or domain-driven design.
