SCIENTIST COMPOUND MANAGEMENT 50%


As Scientist in Compound Management, you will be responsible for the meticulous daily management of our compound library. You will play a supportive role in our research activities and contribute to the smooth and safe operation of the Medicinal Chemistry laboratory. This is a part-time, on-site position.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

1.      Compound Management

o  Manage and maintain the compound library and chemical inventory.

o  Receive, organize, and safely store chemical compounds.

o  Accurately weigh, label, and sort compounds.

2.      Support for scientists in their experiments through a service-oriented approach:

o  Prepare and ship compounds to internal research teams or external partners.

o  Ensure correct labeling, traceability, and registration in databases.

o  Ensure traceable storage of reagents.

3.      Lab operations & stock management

o  Assist with general maintenance tasks in the laboratory.

o  Support the receipt and storage of purchased materials.

o  Administrative follow-up and reporting of all compound-related activities.


Profile Requirements

  • Accurate, organized, and service-oriented.
  • Knowledge of chemical substances and safety guidelines is a plus.
  • Willing to work part-time, half days on-site in Leuven on a daily basis.
  • Ideal background: professional bachelor’s degree or secondary education diploma in a relevant scientific field such as laboratory technology, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a related discipline (e.g., lab technician, bachelor in chemistry, biotechnology, or similar).
  • Experience in compound management, laboratory support, or laboratory inventory management is a plus.
  • Good command of English; Dutch/French is an additional asset.
