Senior Application Architect

Application Architect - eHealth Platform (Freelance)

We're supporting a major public sector / eHealth initiative in Brussels and are looking for an experienced Application Architect to join the project.

In this role, you will:

Design and evolve a scalable architecture (Hexagonal, DDD)

Guide and coach development teams in technical decisions

Align with stakeholders to ensure business needs are translated into robust, future-proof solutions

Work in a multilingual environment where collaboration across domains is key

Tech stack: Java 17+, Spring Boot, Angular 18+, PostgreSQL.
Nice-to-haves: Archimate (or similar), WebComponents.

Requirements:

Solid background in Java/Spring Boot architecture

Experience with DDD and modern architectural practices

Strong communicator with proven coaching skills

Trilingual: French, Dutch & English (active knowledge required)

Location: Brussels (hybrid)
Duration: Initial 12 months, with extensions possible
