About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Electrical Technician to support substation projects on a contract basis. The role involves hands-on work with high-voltage (HV/MV) equipment, ensuring reliable operation, safety, and compliance throughout project execution and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of substation equipment (switchgear, transformers, protection & control systems).
• Carry out inspections, fault-finding, and troubleshooting to ensure system reliability.
• Support safe energization/de-energization procedures in coordination with engineers and control room staff.
• Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and HSE requirements.
• Provide detailed reporting of test results, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician within HV/MV substations.
• Strong knowledge of switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA and control systems is an advantage.
• Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering / Electromechanics.
• Valid safety certifications (e.g., VCA, HV switching authorization) preferred.
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Availability for freelance/project-based assignments on-site.
