Senior System Engineer

Do you enjoy working at a high-tech, growing scale-up with a clear vision and focus? Then you could play a key role in our growing R&D team in Mechelen.

Your responsibilities may include (among others):

• Perform data analysis and simulations: Filter architecture design, optical design en defining the specs for and design the overall system. Use Python and simulation tools (such as FDTD, Zemax) to model concepts, analyze results, and optimize system performance.

• Collaborate closely with Spectricity's manufacturing team, also with semiconductor fabs and partners

• Work in a multidisciplinary team. Act as the technical link between teams (algo, characterisation, FW/SW/HW, system, manufacturing, application engineering) and ensure seamless integration.

• Validation and problem solving: Conduct measurements, interpret raw sensor data, and troubleshoot complex issues in both prototype and production environments.

• Application- and customer-oriented engineering: Translate customer needs (e.g., healthcare, consumer electronics, food, cosmetics) into concrete technical requirements and solutions.

• Contribute to the technical roadmap: Provide input on future product development and innovative applications of our sensor technology.

Who are you?

• You have a Master’s degree and preferably a PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics or Photonics.
• You have experience in one or more domains: optics, image sensors, integrated optics
• You have strong analytical skills and affinity with data analysis.
• You feel comfortable in a dynamic, international and scale-up environment.
• You are fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
