Functieomschrijving As a Customer Engineer , your main goal is to bridge the gap between technical solutions and customer needs, relying on in-depth knowledge of products developed by R&D. You are the primary point of contact for customers regarding the use of automated control systems and measurement instruments. As a true technical expert, you play a key role in integrating Automation & Robotics solutions within production environments.
Main responsibilities
- Project management : Set up and manage projects for A&R standard products, including optimal configuration and analysis of all relevant data to ensure perfect integration of A&R equipment into customer production flows (understanding customer needs, project preparation and validation, configuration, integration, and installation of machines at customer sites).
- Feasibility studies: Conduct technical feasibility studies for specific customer requests (analysis, testing, reporting), and if necessary, forward design review requests to R&D.
- Validation and testing : Participate in the testing and validation of new machines (OMA/VCA DCS).
- Data analysis : Analyze and process customer data according to ophthalmic industry data standards.
- Training and support : Train customers, their production teams, and internal teams on the installation and proper use of products and machines.
- Communication : Ensure cross-functional communication between customers, sales, R&D, technicians, and after-sales service.
This position requires international travel (approximately 40 days per year).

Profiel Your experience and technical skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechatronics, electromechanics, industrial IT, or physics.
- Knowledge of DOS and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with the ophthalmic sector and OMA/VCA DCS standards (a plus).
- Excellent project management and technical writing skills
- Fluent in English and French (Portuguese or Spanish is a strong additional asset)
