Technical Proposal Engineer

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Technical Proposal Engineer to own the technical content of our project bids—from the initial RFI/RFQ through to final client agreement. You’ll partner with internal experts, suppliers, and the sales team to craft clear, competitive proposals that reflect client requirements and optimized technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Proposal Development: Analyze RFI, RFQ, and RFP documents; define scope, identify technical variables, and structure compliant responses.

• Equipment & Process Calculations: Size equipment and model process performance, then validate results with senior technical advisors.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with suppliers, electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineers to integrate cost estimates, timelines, and design data.

• Specification Analysis: Translate project requirements into accurate, unambiguous technical offers and ensure all assumptions are documented.

• Quality & Clarity: Review proposals for technical completeness; drive continuous improvement of templates, checklists, and best practices.

• Sales Support: Prepare technical deliverables and cost breakdowns, respond to clarifications, and present solutions at client workshops.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years’ experience in the flat steel or heavy industrial sector (or 10+ years in a related technical field).

• Hands-on knowledge of continuous annealing, galvanizing lines, cold-rolling mills, pickling lines, or acid-regeneration systems—especially in automotive or similar industries.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams.

• Fluent in English and French, with excellent written and verbal technical communication.

• Proven leadership in coordinating multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural teams and a readiness to travel internationally.

• Creative problem-solver who thrives on innovation and “big-picture” thinking.
