Product Owner – cryptography

Role Responsibilities

• Oversee the strategic vision, roadmap, and objectives for the Key, Certificate, and Secret Management (KCSM).
• Stay updated on cryptography and security trends, ensuring the squad’s roadmap aligns with future technological directions.
• Align the squad’s strategy with business, IT, and security evolutions within the bank.
• Define and communicate short-, mid-, and long-term goals, defending the roadmap and budget to business and IT management.
• Collaborate with Chapter Leads to identify required competencies, trainings, and optimal squad sizing.
• Translate strategic objectives into user stories and manage priorities during Quarterly Agile Planning (QAP).
• Ensure smooth coordination with the Scrum Master for daily operations and Agile delivery.
• Maintain effective stakeholder communication, promoting collaboration across Business, IT, and Security teams.
• Ensure the squad’s deliverables align with risk management and compliance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, collaboration, and delivery performance.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of Security technologies.
• Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g., Rally).
• Knowledge of cryptography concepts and tools (e.g., Portunus, nCipher, Snow) – preferred.

Business & Professional Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Owner in a Security-related domain.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog management.
• Proven track record in defining product strategy and managing roadmaps.
• Experience in cryptography or key management (minimum 3 years preferred).
