HV Technical Lead

JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading global consultancy in the data centre construction industry, who are seeking a High Voltage (HV) Technical Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of high-voltage systems across major mission-critical projects.

About the Role

The HV Technical Lead will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of high-voltage electrical systems — from design and planning through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This position will play a key role in ensuring all HV systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with technical, regulatory, and quality standards.

You’ll be working within a high-performing, collaborative environment, partnering with designers, utility providers, and contractors to deliver critical infrastructure that supports world-class data centre operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all stages of the HV project lifecycle — design, planning, construction, commissioning, and handover
• Coordinate technical teams and interface with designers, utility companies, and contractors
• Oversee design reviews, approvals, and adherence to HV regulatory requirements
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure full compliance with safety and quality standards
• Implement and maintain HSE principles in line with HV project operations
• Identify and mitigate project risks, driving technical excellence and timely delivery
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience delivering HV systems on large-scale construction or energy infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of utility protocols, HV commissioning practices, and regional safety regulations
• Skilled in stakeholder management across clients, designers, and contractors
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety
