Audio Visual (AV) / Video Conferencing (VC) Engineer (Polycom) – Secret Security Clearance Required

Employment Type: Contract - 6 months extendable
Clearance: Must hold in country Secret National Security Clearance
On this role you will work as part of team delivering best-in-class conferencing solutions, AV setups, and secure communications platforms that meet the highest security standards. If you have hands-on experience in AV, video conferencing platforms including Polycom, and secure environments — we would love to speak with you.
What You’ll Do
- Install, configure, service, and troubleshoot Polycom & video conferencing hardware & software.
- Deploy and support video conferencing systems across secure facilities, government sites, or corporate campuses.
- Set up and maintain AV systems: projectors, displays, matrix switchers, audio DSPs, microphones, control systems.
- Conduct site surveys to determine AV requirements, cabling, signal flow, room acoustics.
- Ensure systems comply with security protocols — handling secure zones, encrypted communications, secure tunnelling, restricted access.
- Perform firmware upgrades, system patches, maintenance on AV / VC hardware.
- Work with IT, network, and security teams to integrate conferencing devices into secure networks.
- Provide user training, documentation, SOPs, and post-deployment support.
- Respond to issues promptly: remote / on-site diagnostics and resolution.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Current Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with Polycom video conferencing systems
- Sound AV engineering / technical background: installs, cabling, signal flow, audio & video diagnostics.
- Sound understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, NAT, firewall behavior, routing) and how video conferencing systems cross network boundaries.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills: you can dig into logs, isolate problem sources, and resolve quickly.
- Great communication skills: you’ll explain complex AV setups to non-technical users and produce documentation.
- Ability to work independently on site, and as part of a wider AV / IT / Security team.
Desirable / Bonus:
- Experience with other video conferencing platforms (e.g. Cisco, Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms etc)
- Understanding of video codecs, SIP / H.323 protocols.
- Experience with AV control systems (Crestron / AMX)
- Experience working in secure or government environments.
