Quality Inspector (Mechanical)

Location: Belgium – Farciennes
We are seeking a Quality Inspector (Mechanical) to join a major construction programme. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in mechanical systems inspections and a deep understanding of quality control processes on complex construction projects. You will play a key role in ensuring that all construction activities meet design specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of Long Lead Equipment (LLE) and Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) mechanical equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect mechanical systems on site, including HVAC, chilled water, process piping, fire protection, and associated installations.
- Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, EN standards, local regulations).
- Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
- Support quality audits and participate in both internal and external inspections.
- Review and verify contractor quality documentation, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and method statements.
- Collaborate with site teams, contractors, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, test data, and quality communications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and standards.
Your Profile
- 5+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within the construction industry with a focus on mechanical systems.
- Experience on large-scale projects such as data centres, industrial facilities, or life sciences environments.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction practices, materials, and testing methods.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Practical experience with installation and inspection of LLE/OFCI equipment in major project environments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communicator with strong collaboration and coordination skills.
- Relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (diploma, degree, or equivalent).
