System Engineer


Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) Consultant

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid/On-site as per client requirement)

Client: Leading Banking Institution

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory) Consultant to support our banking client in Brussels. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining secure identity and access management (IAM) solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and supporting digital transformation initiatives within a highly regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Entra ID solutions for identity and access management across the enterprise.
  • Integrate Entra ID with on-premises Active Directory, Azure services, SaaS applications, and third-party systems.
  • Configure and support Conditional Access policies, MFA, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Identity Protection.
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to banking/financial regulatory standards (e.g., PSD2, GDPR, EBA guidelines).
  • Perform identity lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and governance activities.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, federation (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect), and directory synchronization issues.
  • Provide guidance on Zero Trust security models and secure hybrid identity architectures.
  • Document designs, processes, and policies while ensuring alignment with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance reporting related to identity and access management.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) with a focus on Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
  • Strong expertise in MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, RBAC, Identity Protection, and PIM.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure AD Connect, AD Federation Services (ADFS), and hybrid identity setups.
  • Knowledge of authentication & authorization protocols (SAML, OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, Kerberos, LDAP).
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust frameworks and modern security best practices.
  • Experience working in banking/financial services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in large-scale environments.
  • Strong communication skills (English required; French or Dutch is a plus).
