Role Overview

As a Project Planner – Shutdown Projects, you will play a central role in preparing, executing, and following up on planned industrial shutdowns. Working closely with production, maintenance, and technology teams, you will manage detailed project scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking to ensure shutdowns are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

You will act as a key coordinator in the shutdown planning process—balancing technical accuracy, administrative precision, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed schedules for planned shutdowns and maintenance projects.

• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and technical teams to gather and process planning input.

• Organize and lead planning meetings, ensuring alignment across departments.

• Prepare detailed task lists, obtain cost estimates, and track budgets throughout project execution.

• Monitor progress during daily coordination meetings and report on deviations and corrective actions.

• Collect and analyze post-shutdown data to support continuous improvement.

• Provide backup support to the shutdown planning team when necessary.

• Manage supporting processes such as:

  • Tracking and processing of study and budget requests.
  • Maintaining and reporting on the department’s project portfolio.


Profile Requirements


Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, or piping preferred).

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Planner in an industrial environment.

• Proficiency with MS Project for planning and scheduling.

• Working knowledge of SAP and SharePoint.

• Strong technical and analytical insight.

• Strong communicator, patient yet assertive in coordinating diverse teams.

• Structured, proactive, and capable of working independently.

• Flexible mindset, especially during shutdown operations.

• Committed to continuous improvement and cross-departmental collaboration.


Language Requirements

Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written).

• Other languages are an asset.
