About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a leading aviation ground support equipment (GSE) company based in Steenokkerzeel, near Brussels Airport.

This is a workshop-based role focused on maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of GSE — including aircraft tractors, belt loaders, de-icers, and GPUs — used daily in airport operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on heavy GSE.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, rebuilds, and component overhauls.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams, service manuals, and wiring schematics.
• Support the workshop team to meet safety, quality, and turnaround standards.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and aviation maintenance protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or GSE Technician.
• Solid mechanical and hydraulic skills (basic electrical knowledge an advantage).
• Recognised technical qualification (automotive, mechanical, or mechatronic engineering).
• Valid EU work rights and driving licence.
• Languages: Fluent in English or Dutch; French beneficial.
