Freelance Siemens Automation Engineer (Pharma)

For a customer in Ghent, I am searching for a medior freelance Automation Engineer to work in a Project Team responsible for solving alarms, implementing changes and supporting the customer onsite. It is a GMP environment so candidates should have exposure to highly regulated environments, ie. pharmaceutical, automotive, manufacturing etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control strategies for industrial processes in line with project specifications and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems to improve reliability and performance.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including control system architecture, wiring diagrams, HMI designs, and testing protocols.

Profile

• Education in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related fields.
• Good knowledge around Siemens software (TIA Portal, PCS7, WinCC, and Step7).
• Good knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Exposure to EMS/BMS (environment monitoring systems/building monitoring systems), HVAC or the pharmaceutical sector is a considerable advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.
