Marine Service Engineer

Location: Antwerp (within 100 km radius)


Salary: Up to €5,000 gross/month + net expense allowance, travel & per diem allowances, weekend premiums, and a comprehensive benefits package


Employment Type: Full-time

Travel: Europe – short and extended assignments


🌊 About the Role

Are you passionate about large diesel engines and feel at home among tools, engine oil, and machinery?


Our partner is looking for a Marine Field Service Engineer / Service Technician / Engine Mechanic with hands-on experience on 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.

In this role, you will work on-site at clients’ locations (mainly across Europe), performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning of marine engines. Your work ensures ships operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably.


🔧 Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, overhauls, and repairs on 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines
  • Lead and coach technical teams during commissioning, performance tests, and root cause analyses
  • Diagnose mechanical, electronic, and pneumatic faults
  • Analyze vibration and maintenance data to optimize preventive maintenance
  • Advise clients on technical improvements and maintenance strategies
  • Ensure accurate reporting and identification of required parts
  • Work in compliance with the highest HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards


🧭 Your Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Marine Engineer, Field Service Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanical Engineer, or Diesel Engineer
  • Proven expertise with both 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines (mandatory)
  • Experience with electronic and pneumatic systems
  • Independent, analytical, and customer-focused — even under pressure
  • EU Work Permit (mandatory)
  • Residing within 100 km of Antwerp (e.g., Ghent, Bruges, Brussels, Breda, Eindhoven, Hasselt…)
  • Willing to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice, across Europe
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Driving license B and own transport
