My client, a leading company in the product development industry based in Kortrijk, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative, real-world products from concept through to production, in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

🎯 About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for the development of mechanical components and assemblies across a range of product categories. You’ll collaborate with industrial designers, engineers, and manufacturing partners to turn ideas into high-quality, manufacturable products.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings for production.
• Perform tolerance analyses, material selections, and design validations.
• Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to design-for-manufacture (DFM) practices.
• Support prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements.

✅ Ideal Profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development or related field.
• Ideally 2 years of experience in mechanical design (junior profiles also welcome).
• Proficient with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, and 3D printing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a plus.
