About the project

Europa Search is supporting a leading European consultancy, in expanding its Java team working on
digital government and healthcare platforms
in Belgium (clients include CHU-Brugmann, Christelijke Mutualiteit, NIHDI–INAMI–RIZIV, and Jette Local Administration).

You'll join the
Java team
responsible for the
back-end of a digital wallet application
, contributing to long-term, high-impact public sector systems.

Your day-to-day

• Develop, test, and maintain back-end services using
  Java 17+
  and
  Spring Boot
  .
• Collaborate within an
  Agile/Scrum
  team and ensure production-quality code.
• Work on
  distributed and enterprise-scale systems
  , integrating APIs and databases.
• (Senior) Take ownership of solution design, mentor team members, and support architectural decisions.

Essential skills

• Strong experience with
  Java 17 and above
• Excellent knowledge of
  Spring / Spring Boot
• Experience building
  RESTful APIs
  and working with relational databases
• Fluent in
  English
  +
  French or Dutch

• Front-end exposure with

• Broader Java ecosystem experience: Java EE, Quarkus, Vaadin
• CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, OpenShift, ArgoCD)

• Database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Neo4J)
• Knowledge of security standards (OAuth, WS Security)
