YOUR TASKS

We are looking for a highly skilled consultant to support the development of a robust and future-oriented strategy for the repair of high-voltage submarine cables. The role focuses on enhancing operational readiness, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the long-term resilience of offshore transmission infrastructure.

Engagement Details:

• Duration: 3 months (October – December)
• Weekly virtual progress meetings
• Bi-weekly in-person coordination meetings
• Key Deliverables: Strategy paper, stakeholder presentations, and tender documentation

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing repair preparedness strategies for submarine cable systems.
• Analyze asset inventory and cable routes to identify potential failure scenarios and corresponding response strategies.
• Define technical and logistical requirements for a comprehensive repair strategy, including:
• Repair engineering and project management processes
• Vessel selection and availability criteria
• Route preparation and seabed intervention planning
• Cable handling and deployment equipment (vessel/platform/island-based)
• Remedial works and post-repair validation
• Develop a sourcing strategy for key work packages related to offshore cable repair.
• Draft technical specifications and requirements for future procurement of cable repair logistics services.
• Deliver strategic documentation and presentations to stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of tender documentation.

REQUIREMENTS & YOUR EXPERTISE

• Demonstrated experience in offshore cable installation and repair, particularly in high-voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of marine logistics, offshore operations, and relevant maritime regulations.
• Proven ability to develop and implement repair strategies for submarine cable systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
