Solution Architect


Service description:

As a member of the Digital Division (Division D) of the group, the Solution Architect will:

  • Support the Customer Centricity product clusters daily in defining architectures that are realizable by the different product teams.
  • Help documenting the existing and future landscape in a consistent way in line with the other architects (Business, Domain and Solution Architects).
  • Be an advisor to other architecture disciplines in assessing (Architecture Trade-off) different architecture options.
  • Adopt and analyse constraints, non-functional and functional requirements
  • Conduct appropriate decomposition within the specifics of the business capability resulting in relevant Solution Building Blocks using recommended Architectural styles and patterns (based on Reference Architectures)
  • Serve as the key link aligning all relevant stakeholders in the Product Organization, the Architecture team as well as the delivery team
  • Deliver Architecture Designs in accordance with Elia Groups standards and guidelines
  • Provide designs following your experience in integration design, application architecture, and available tools
  • In the design lifecycle, following the governance structures (Architecture Review Boards) for gating and decision making (using techniques such as: ADR, ATAM)

Requirements:

The solution Architect has a proven expertise in solution design to support business transformations, he is able to create and execute an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve complex business objectives. We are looking for a landscape solution architect, able to understand the business and challenge the technical lead who:

  • Must have:
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in the position of Solution Architecture with strong interaction with business and technical teams
  • Experience in different processes streams to identify all cross-modules end to end processes.
  • Document and maintain architecture blueprints (Business, Application, Data) artefacts, flows, integration
  • Evaluate specific needs businesses may have and build solutions to create, document, and integrate an organization's business, data, landscape, and requirements into a heterogeneous cohesive view.
  • Experience dealing with Enterprise-Level Portal Strategy (B2B/B2C)
  • Foundational knowledge Standards, such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, ATAM, CBAM
  • Foundational knowledge of Architecture Modelling Languages such as Archimate. an experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect is a plus.
  • Familiar with the principles of Domain Driven Design (DDD), and the principles, opportunities, and challenges of modern architectural paradigms such as microservices, event driven, event streaming architectures. And knows how to apply them.
  • Understanding of Data Architecture concepts (data products, Data Integration Patterns, Data Storage and Access Patterns…)
  • Should have
  • Familiar with IT infrastructure layer
  • Familiar with security concept (e.g OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SSO+)
  • Experience as developer (.NET, Micro Frontend, Backend for Frontend, Blazor, JS/TS, Azure Cloud Platform, K8s)
  • Foundational knowledge of RabbitMQ, Kafka, SAP (S/4 HANA, BTP, CPI, Event Mesh)

Soft skills:

  • Facilitator, able to influence, explain and reach consensus. Acts as a bridge between business, platform and product team, and have good communication skills
  • Have an Agile mindset, working experience in an agile environment on large project is a plus.
  • Able to work in a team and is always open for feedback from his/her peers
  • Able to work autonomously and take initiative for engaging with people at all levels
  • Pragmatical approach result oriented

Language skills:

  • Fluent in English. Supplier and procurement documentation and meetings with external parties will be in English. Knowledge of this language is mandatory.
  • The consultant will collaborate with French, Dutch and German speaking team members. Knowledge of those 3 languages, especially German, is an added value.
  • You are able to speak, read and write fluently English and French or Dutch.

Additional information:

  • Location: Empereur
  • Telework: Minimum 2 days/week onsite (Tuesday certainly onsite)
  • Meeting and desk activities will be at Elia Group locations Emperor Building in Brussels.
  • Trips to Germany could happen, in case of, Elia will cover all costs.
  • Start date 15/12/2025
  • End date 31/12/2026
