EMEA Recruitment is delighted to support an international software company looking to add a GL Accounting Lead to their Finance team.
Sitting within the General Ledger stream, you will lead a team of five people and work across multiple entities under IFRS, collaborating closely with AR/AP and Group Accounting, and partnering with external auditors and advisors.
This is an exciting opportunity to build on your GL and IFRS foundation by driving month-end close activities, intercompany reconciliations, and statutory reporting, while contributing to process standardization and the rollout of SAP Business ByDesign.
You will gain exposure to change and project management, work with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, evolving environment, and have the potential to grow into a lead role.
Key responsibilities of the GL Accounting Lead:
• Own end-to-end General Ledger activities for assigned EMEA entities
• Prepare and review monthly trial balances and IFRS financials, support statutory financial statements, and external audits
• Coordinate with tax advisors on filings, and uphold internal controls and accounting policies
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, deferrals, and prepayments; maintain and review balance sheet schedules
• Ensure appropriate revenue/cost recognition for subscription contracts where applicable
• Drive process standardization and continuous improvement, and support ERP rollout and optimization (SAP Business ByDesign)
• Provide leadership to a team of 5
Experience and skills:
• 5+ years' GL accounting experience under IFRS, with strong month-end close exposure
• Strong IFRS knowledge essential
• Experience supporting statutory financial statements and external audits
• Exposure to process standardization, systems implementation, or change/project work is a plus
• People management experience
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
• Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement
• Experience in software or telecom/IT environments will be advantageous
• Fluent in English
