National Programme Support Officer

Context

Under the direct supervision of the Global Programme Support Officer (GPSO) and the overall supervision of the Head of the EU Policy and Programme Support Division, the National Programme Support Officer supports and coordinates the Global Programme Support Unit's (GPSU) overall strategic engagement with the European Union (EU) in close coordination with the Global Thematic Units (GTUs). The National Programme Support Officer will coordinate the direct relationship between IOM and EU Institutions, Bodies, and Agencies, relating to the incumbent's specific files, to enhance IOM's position in policy discussions and support IOM Country Offices (COs) worldwide in their advocacy on EU-related issues, and the development, contracting, compliance, and implementation of EU-funded projects. 

The National Programme Support Officer will, as delegated by the GPSO and in close coordination with the GTUs, have the following functions: support to liaison and resource mobilization, EU compliance, and project review. The GPSU provides analysis on EU external policies, funding, priorities, and developments to colleagues within the GO in Brussels, particularly to GTUs, EU Legal Compliance, and EU Financial Compliance colleagues, as well as to colleagues in HQ, ROs, and COs. In addition, and in close coordination with the GTUs, the National Programme Support Officer supports offices implementing EU-funded projects on knowledge management and learning, capacity building for Country Offices (COs) and Regional Offices (ROs), and field visits to support implementation, reporting, evaluation, audits, and verifications.
