Thales Belgium SA is a company which employs 470+ people, as well more than +150 externals, consists of 2 sites located in Tubize (near Brussels) and Herstal (near Liège).

The Tubize site (GBU SIX**), which employs more than 300 people, is one of the Group's competence centers specializing in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for all types of platforms used by customers in the Defense, Security (including Cyber Security), Aeronautics and Transportation sectors.

The Herstal site (GBU LAS***), which employs more than 170 people, specializes in the design, development, production and supply of 70mm NATO Standard rocket ammunition and weapon systems for use by worldwide customers in the Defense (MoD) and Aerospace & Land OEM sectors. With the Guided Rocket in the portfolio additional market's segments are now addressed like Ground-to-Ground applications or Counter-UAS.

Besides, the landscape of Thales in Belgium and Luxembourg, also includes:

  • Aviovision, which employs around 100 collaborators, is developing high quality, innovative solutions that extends Thales' Electronics Flight Bag Offer.
  • Thales Cyber Solutions, with 180 people established in Belgium and Luxembourg, is a cyber-security consulting, SOC service provider and security technology integration company.
  • Thales Alenia Space Joint-Venture (more than 500 people in Belgium) active in the Space domain.

All in all, Thales has served the Belgian defence, security, aerospace, transportation and space markets for more than 50 years. Today the Group employs more than 1,200 people across nine sites in Belgium (Herstal, Tubize, Brussels, Charleroi, Hasselt, Leuven, Zaventem and Hasselt), and in Luxembourg (Contern).

In the coming years, Thales Belgium plans to increase its footprint in Belgium and abroad.

In this context, Thales Belgium SA (Herstal/Soumagne sites mainly) is looking for a:

HR Business Partner

Mission:

Within the Human Resources Department of Thales Belgium SA, you will be responsible for the role of HR Business Partner in supporting the growth and transformation of the business of LAS VTS**** Domain by leading a series of missions and projects.

In this position, you will work with the other HR team members and you will report to the HR Director of the company.

Your mission will be carried out mainly on Herstal and related sites (with ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally).

Main responsibilities:

  • Be HR business partner for LAS VTS Domain in Herstal/Soumagne (and related locations): be a force of proposal and provide daily HR support to managers (and employees); help shaping and planning departments HR needs (organization, performance management, staffing, training, knowledge transfer etc);
  • Support workforce planning by identifying critical positions, competency/skills management, how & when to install knowledge sharing and build recognition plans for expertise (develop and animate technical expertise community);
  • Lead Talent management process (Talent/performance Reviews, Succession plans, liaising with other HR colleagues) in your perimeter;
  • Support Learning & Development together with your HR colleagues: coach, advise and support employees in their professional development, act as a senior learning partner, develop and deploy according training paths/experience in line with Group's tools & approach;
  • Be the employer representative for HR topics at CPPT***** meetings and lead these topics from an HR perspective/responsibility;
  • Provide expertise in the management of individual and collective topics related to labor law;
  • Initiate local actions within the wellbeing framework to improve the overall wellbeing of the employees (support and coordinate with well-being officer);
  • Group aspects: responsible for the local deployment of Group initiatives/projects linked to Talent & Performance Management and Learning & Culture (e.g. Skills review, Engagement Survey, Diversity & Inclusion, Leadership, KPIs & reportings…);
  • Work on different HR projects like employee experience, trainings for managers, ESG related initiatives, student planning etc.;
  • Participate to promote the employer brand of THALES in Belgium & Luxembourg through HR external and diversified networks.

As a real agent of change, you will accompany the transformation and performance of our company in its various businesses and its evolutions. As such, you will propose HR action plans to ensure that these changes are well understood and supported by all the stakeholders in your area.

Profile:

  • Holding a Master degree and with a background in HR, you ideally have a minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the field of Human Resources.
  • You are fluent in French, and English, both written and spoken (professional ability required). Dutch will be considered as a plus.
  • Having worked in an industrial, international and/or multinational group environment will be considered as a differentiator. Business acumen required: ability to translate business strategies into HR priorities and data into actionable strategies.
  • As HR professional you manage difficult communication and confidentiality with ease
  • Having a HR network in Belgium (Federal and regional levels) will be considered as a plus.
  • Proactivity, reactivity and flexibility are part of your work criteria.
  • You are dynamic, rigorous, tenacious and have a strong sense of analysis.
  • You have a good capacity for organization and priority management.
  • You know how to be creative and remain in constant improvement.
  • You have a taste for teamwork and information sharing, while being able to work independently.
  • You have a perfect command of Office Pack tools. Experience with Workday is a plus
  • You are an active listener and you have a business oriented / solution mindset.
  • You are willing to share your working time (full-time position, on payroll) between the sites of Herstal (mainly) and Tubize, and to travel occasionally to other sites of the Group in Belgium.
