Job Title: Senior Python Developer – Automation Tool

Duration: Initial 6 months contract

Workload: Full-time hours

Setup: Freelance (Daily rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)

Location: Brussels (Monnoyer) – Onsite 2 days/week

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to industrialise and optimise a full-Python automation tool, leveraging existing scripts and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a modular, scalable Python-based tool for industrial applications.
• Optimise scripts for performance and efficiency to handle large datasets.
• Document code and ensure adaptability for evolving requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate solutions into power systems workflows.

Must-Have Skills:

• 6+ years of experience with Python-driven industrial software.
• Strong Python programming expertise (minimum 3 years hands-on).
• Background in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physical Sciences.
• Excellent English communication; basic French and/or Dutch.
• Proven ability in profiling, optimisation, and modular programming.
• Knowledge of electricity or electric power systems (grid structure, load flow, generation/consumption localisation).

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with European energy systems.

Important: Non-EU candidates must hold a valid Belgian work permit and residence permit.
