SAP BTP Architect (contract)

Location: Belgium (Hybrid/Remote options depending on project)

Contract: Freelance – Initial 12 Months (with long-term extension potential)

About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading tech consulting company in Belgium that is seeking an experienced SAP BTP Architect to join their team on a long-term freelance basis. This is an initial 12-month contract with the clear expectation of extension, supporting major integration programmes across their European customer base.

This role is ideal for a senior SAP integration professional who enjoys architecting complex solutions, driving technical design, and working across diverse integration landscapes involving S/4HANA and non-SAP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate functional requirements into high-quality technical designs and architecture.
• Lead development and solution design using SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP CPI.
• Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for integration scenarios.
• Work with Advanced Event Mesh, API Management, and related BTP services.
• Oversee integration with S/4HANA and external/non-SAP systems.
• Design and implement integrations across REST, SOAP, OData, IDOC, JDBC, SFTP, and HTTP adapters.
• Ensure best practices, security standards, and high-performance integration solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and consulting teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of overall IT experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite & SAP CPI (architecture, design, and development).
• Strong experience with Advanced Event Mesh and API Management.
• Deep understanding of S/4HANA integration, data transformation, and hybrid landscapes.
• Expert knowledge of REST, SOAP, OData, IDOC, JDBC, SFTP, HTTP integration scenarios.
• Strong experience with TPM (Trading Partner Management).
• Ability to advise on architecture, ensure best practices, and support troubleshooting.
