This position within the Grimbergen Planning Team offers a unique opportunity to work at the crossroads of packaging operations, planning, and continuous improvement. As a Contract Packager Analyst, you'll take ownership of key activities linked to our contract packaging partner, A-Pack. You'll be responsible for creating performance reports, validating invoices, and collaborating closely with operations and cross-functional teams both within Caterpillar and at the CP. This is a hands-on role with real impact—ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow-up KPI reports to monitor contract packager performance.

  • Validate service invoices and follow up with the contract packager to ensure accuracy.

  • Support and improve the operational indirect materials ordering process.

  • Act as a backup for ordering and coordinating deliveries of indirect materials for Grimbergen DC and the contract packager.

  • Serve as a liaison between Grimbergen DC and the contract packager (A-Pack), ensuring smooth communication and issue resolution.

  • Audit packaging conformance and maintain accurate packaging records (GPP / PWO).

  • Provide onsite support with the contract packager in Lokeren (weekly visits).

  • Provide daily, on call, support for operational and system issues at the Contract packager

  • Manage the end-to-end process of heavy parts packaging, from audit at receipt to supplier invoices follow-up

  • Support packaging improvement projects, contributing to cost reduction and sustainability goals.

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining the dock code process, ensuring accurate assignment, tracking, and communication of dock codes across all relevant departments.

Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP): Knowledge of the process, issues and considerations for systematically managing distribution of inventory for multiple plants or warehouses; ability to apply related knowledge and experience in real practice.
 Level Basic Understanding: 
•    Explains basic measurements of operational distribution performance.
•    Describes common bottlenecks and delays in distributions.
•    Describes the role of a distribution center in the supply chain.
•    Describes the basic process of moving materials or goods.

Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
 Level Working Knowledge: 
•    Assists in the responding of and dealing with emergency issues related in materials handling.
•    Works with the packaging and storage of inbound or outbound materials.
•    Performs the packing, shipping, identifying and transporting of materials.
•    Explains key environmental issues for handling hazardous goods.
•    Follows procedures to handle hazardous materials, hazardous substances and pollutants.
