Our product portfolio includes a range of innovative dual clutch hybrid and conventional transmissions, designed to be affordable and deliver superior driving performance, fuel efficiency, and reduced CO2 emissions.
We are currently seeking motivated System Engineer – Efficiency & Mission Profile (m/f) to join our team. By joining us, you'll be part of a leading company that is shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology.
About the Job
As System Engineer – Efficiency & Mission Profile, you are responsible for defining, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of transmission systems with a strong focus on energy efficiency, drivability, and real-world mission performance. This role bridges vehicle-level requirements and transmission subsystem design, ensuring optimal system behavior across diverse driving scenarios and electrified powertrain configurations. You will report to the system engineering team lead and product architect.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and verify system level requirements for transmission efficiency and performance across different vehicle segments, markets and drive cycles.
- Define mission profiles to represent real world driving conditions (standardized and customer specific duty cycles) and load collectives for subsystems and component to ensure correct efficiency and lifetime simulations and validations
- Conduct energy flow analysis and loss breakdowns within the transmission system
- Support design trade-offs between mechanical layout, control strategy and efficiency performance
- Develop and use system level simulation models to predict transmission, subsystem and components behavior under different mission profiles and load collectives
- Analyze vehicle test data, transmission and subsystem validation results, EOL data and correlate with simulation results to finetune the models and improve prediction accuracy
- Work closely with different departments (Hardware, Controls, Calibration, Testing and Validation) to ensure system targets are met both in simulations as real world testing
- Define and support characterization tests for transmissions (sub)systems (eg Clutches, bearings, drag)
- Support design reviews, DFMEAs, validation planning related to efficiency and mission based performance
- Contribute to next generation transmission systems
- Plan and execute benchmark activities for competitor transmission systems and subsystems and analyze to derive best practices and innovations into concept selection and target setting
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in transmission development, preferably in efficiency optimization or testing
- Master degree in Automotive, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
- Data driven
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools (Matlab/Simulink, ..)
- Experience in data acquisition and analysis
- Deep understanding of transmission architectures and loss mechanisms & energy flow analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a multidisciplinary environment
- Knowledge of requirement management tools (Polarion)
We Offer
- You will join a respected company with an outspoken international orientation in the challenging world of automotive industry.
- We offer a dynamic work environment, the chance to grow within the company and to develop your competences in new technologies.
- You can count on motivated colleagues, professional space for creativity and initiative and short communication lines.
