Senior Business Analyst – Asset Reference Systems

Duration: January start – January 2027 (long-term, renewable)

Workload: Full-time hours

Setup: Freelance (Daily Rate / Limited Company / Umbrella / Sole Trader)

Location: Brussels (Schaerbeek), Belgium

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to lead digital transformation initiatives within the Assets department for a major energy sector client. This role focuses on optimising asset reference systems and supporting critical projects tied to renewable energy integration and process harmonisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model and redesign business processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Capture business needs and translate them into epics, features, and user stories.
• Develop business information models and validate functional analysis.
• Coordinate between business and IT stakeholders, ensuring consensus and clarity.
• Support UAT, training, and post-implementation adoption of IT tools.

Must-Have Skills:

• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in process modelling and requirements gathering.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
• Proficiency in BPMN 2.0 and UML Class diagrams.
• Knowledge of Dutch or French (plus English fluency).
• Experience with Enterprise Architect, Jira, and DevOps tools.

Nice-to-Have:

• Background in the electricity sector.
• Experience with asset reference systems and data migration projects.
