Electrical Maintenance Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to support a major industrial site in Ghent on a long‑term freelance basis. If you enjoy solving complex electrical issues, keeping high‑value assets running smoothly, and coordinating with multiple contractors, this role will suit

you perfectly.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform root cause analysis on electrical faults and system issues
• Control, monitor, and optimise electrical systems across the site
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out correctly and safely by external contractors
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across electrical infrastructure
• Provide technical input on system performance, reliability, and compliance
• Work closely with operations teams to minimise downtime and maintain system integrity

Technical Requirements

• Strong background in electrical maintenance engineering
• Experience with high‑voltage systems (36 kV and above) is ideal, but not essential
• Experience with PLC systems, particularly Siemens S7 / PCS7
• Solid understanding of industrial electrical standards, safety, and troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and system documentation

Nice to Have

• Dutch language skills (not mandatory but beneficial)
• Experience working in multi‑contractor environments
• Familiarity with large industrial or utility‑scale electrical systems
