BOSAL is a Dutch privately owned company, mainly known as a global Tier 1 automotive supplier, in business since 1923.We employ about 2200 people in 16 production facilities of which the largest ones are situated in Czechia, Mexico, Spain, Turkey and South Africa.

Our corporate research center is based in Belgium, next to that we run 5 other R&D satellites worldwide.

Our company is organized around 3 business areas:

• Powertrain: in this largest BOSAL division, we design and manufacture emission control systems (cold end + hot end) for passenger cars and heavy duty vehicles (ICE + hybrid)
• Chassis: this division comprises a large range of welded and formed products going from seat frames to fuel tanks and air tanks, to towbars and jacks.
• Energy: the Energy Conversion business unit of BOSAL designs and manufactures state-of-the-art plate and tube heat exchangers for advanced power generators. We have 20 years’ experience in the area of gas turbines and fuel cell systems, not only as a supplier of components but also as a system integrator.

Currently, we are looking for a Test Engineer in Lummen (Belgium):

As a Test Engineer, you will support product development and innovation projects by performing tests and delivering results to support the design and validation of products in terms of acoustics, performance, heat transfer, flow dynamics, durability and emissions.

You will analyze the assigned test requests and discuss them with the involved functional engineer. You will build the test set-up, perform the instrumentation and execute the test activities. The test results are reported in English.

Your responsibilities:

• Instrument test samples, engines and vehicles with the necessary sensors to ensure accurate measurements.
• Ensure reliable data acquisition of all relevant test parameters.
• Actively monitor running tests and intervene when needed to guarantee test quality.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized working environment.
• Mechanical construction work and welding tasks.
• Perform post-processing and graphical visualization of acquired data to support clear reporting and well-founded conclusions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, quality standards, and procedures.

Your profile:

Skills & Experience:

• Technical Secondary Education or Bachelor in Engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience in a testing environment, preferably within the automotive sector.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical construction work and welding.
• Knowledge and understanding of acoustics, vibration and combustion engines.
• Proficiency in test and data acquisition software such as IMC, Siemens, or Labview.
• Willingness to travel to perform tests at external or customer locations (typically 3–4 times per year).
• Perfect English and Dutch language skills.
