Logistics Manager

About the Client

Our client is a leading international aviation solutions provider. Headquartered in Belgium and worldwide active, the company combines a rich heritage with strong ambitions for growth in both the civil and defense sectors.

The company has built a reputation for technical excellence, reliability, and innovation, providing services ranging from aircraft maintenance to complex component repairs and custom modifications. Following several strategic acquisitions and integrations, the company is entering a new phase of transformation and professionalization, creating exciting opportunities for impact and leadership within its operations.

About the Role

As a Logistics Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and transforming the Logistics Department. We are looking for a transformational leader that can lead a significant turnaround of the logistics department. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will lead a team of around 20 professionals across the logistics department. Your mission is to bring structure, efficiency and a proactive mindset to a department that plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s operations.

You will be responsible for restructuring the logistics team and its processes so the department can become a highly efficient and reliable partner to the production department. This is a role with a strong emphasis on change management, people leadership, and process optimization.

  • Drive a fundamental cultural and operational transformation within the logistics department, fostering a cohesive, service-oriented team spirit and breaking down historical silos.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on approach - ready to support the team in daily operations to drive change, build credibility and gain the team's trust.
  • Restructure team operations by implementing shift rosters aligned with production hours and introducing multi-skilling to enhance flexibility and efficiency.
  • Oversee all warehouse and stores operations, including parts reception, incoming inspections, stock management and the timely delivery of parts and tools to production.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous standards for warehouse organization, cleanliness, and safety, implementing methodologies like 5S to create a professional and audit-proof environment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all aviation regulations (Part 145), customs procedures and internal quality standards.
  • Manage the procurement team, ensuring the timely ordering of parts while prioritizing the transformation of the main warehouse operations.
  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system within the logistics department.
  • Establish a new, small logistics operation from the ground up to support a new company activity.
  • Partner closely with your peers in Maintenance and Planning to ensure alignment and operational continuity.
  • Balance short-term urgencies with long-term improvement initiatives, combining strategic thinking with hands-on leadership.

This role requires both strategic vision and operational drive. This is an opportunity for a strong and hands-on leader who enjoys building teams, driving change and delivering measurable results while seeing direct results of your work.

Requirements

You combine strong expertise in Logistics Management with proven leadership skills, preferably in a technical or industrial environment. You bring structure where needed, engage teams with clarity and purpose, and thrive in a dynamic, evolving context.

Must-haves:

  • A Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration or any other related field.
  • Proven experience in a Warehouse/Logistics/Operations Management role.
  • A strong and experienced people manager — capable of guiding, motivating, and transforming a team.
  • A strong 'lead-by-example' and hands-on mentality, willing to work alongside the team to understand challenges and demonstrate new ways of working
  • Experience in a unionized context is essential.
  • Resilient, hands-on, and results-driven with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (French is a strong asset).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems; knowledge of AMOS and EASA Part 145 regulations is a plus.

Experience in aviation is not a must. What matters most is your leadership style and experience, the ability to bring structure and transform the way of working within the team.

What we offer

You will join a team passionate about aviation, collaboration, and continuous improvement and will be part of an environment where entrepreneurship and initiative are truly valued. In this role you can be sure to leave a visible mark on the company’s next phase of growth.
