About Tosca

We are Europe’s leading pooling company for plastic load carriers. Our service is to bring clean plastic returnable assets (pallets/foldable large containers/foldable crates) to our customers who send these assets all over Europe to their end customers. After every trip, these load carriers are being collected by us and brought to one of our European service centers where they are being prepared for a next trip. We manage hundreds of thousands of load carriers between more than 5,000 locations, mainly food related companies. Our Pan-European pooling service offers our B2B customers a sustainable and efficient solution throughout their whole supply chain.

To strengthen our Finance department at our local office in Schelle, Belgium, we are currently recruiting a motivated Business Controller.

As our Business Controller, you are responsible for driving financial insight and strategic decision-making by leading the financial control processes across Tosca’s sales and operations activities.

In this role you will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting analysis, provide data driven actionable recommendations to optimize efficiencies and profitability, while acting as a key business partner across departments.

Responsibilities

Financial Controlling, Reporting & Strategic analysis

• Prepare, analyze and present monthly operational result to local management ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• P&L ownership up to gross margin.
• Act as the link between accounting, operations/sales and final management reporting
• Analyze variances and trends per product, customer, region, to inform strategic decisions, elaborate collectively recommendations for corrective actions and follow-up on agreed action plan.
• Responsible for the elaboration and follow-up of the capital investment requests (business cases), including post mortem analysis.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead and challenge annual budgeting, forecast and flash processes for revenue and associated operational costs, aligned with key business stakeholders.

Business partnering

• Collaborate with business teams across different departments (Sales, Operations, IT) to ensure alignment and proper business reporting/steering.
• Provide a data driven financial perspective in operational decisions and challenge stakeholders to deliver operational efficiencies and profitable growth.

Process and Tools Optimization

• Build, maintain and continuously improve on (semi) automated dashboard using Excel or BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
• Design and re-vamp the controlling framework (Financial and Operational) with the support of the Finance Director to further professionalize the controlling function within Tosca

Support the restructuring of Tosca’s Financial and Operational IT tools (Database / system integrations / Data

Education

• You’ve obtained a high education level degree in the fields of Finance, Economics or Business administration and have a few years experience in a similar role.

Skills

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting and performance monitoring
• Advanced Excel and Database management skills
• Is allergic to the "Status Quo" and thrives in finding new ways to win
• Comfortable and proficient in interacting with colleagues across all level of an organization an adapting communication accordingly.
• Business oriented, able to connect the dots between financial insights and operational realities and vice versa.
